What a lovely memoir! Candice Bergen has had a wonderfully full and interesting and rewarding life, which she shares with her readers. Of course there are bumps on the road, which she also shares very openly with us readers. I really feel like I have become acquainted with her through her book. Thank you, Candice Bergen for sharing with us.

An extremely, witty and engaging book. Wish I could meet Candace. After reading this well written book, I feel like I know her.

I purchased the audio book and was excited to hear Candace was the narrator and she is swell at it. I knew this was dangerous territory and knowingly going into it would be listening to an account of her marriage and likely the manifestation of her late life daughter. By chapter seven I already felt I had heard this story seven times and frankly I am bored. Skipped to further chapters to see if there was any improvement but at a point I couldn't give it the time of day. Disappointed but really what can you expect from such an account?
  • Not a great read

Enjoyed the first half, but after a while the constant name-dropping became annoying. Her sharing of Louis Malle's letters was endearing, but the chapters on her daughter were not. I began skipping pages, then chapters. Not worth the time.

What a fantastic book!! I laughed, cried, and laughed some more. Beautifully written, and very relatable. I couldn't put the book down. I am going to give it to my mother for her birthday next week, she'll love it.

I grew up watching Murphy; I was excited to learn more about Ms. Bergen's life in that time. The stories were great but the editing was AWFUL. Repetitious, fractured and probably a third longer than necessary - I really can't believe the publisher let the book out in this condition. That said - when her voice came through it was a good story.
