Great action in this one, really hope they keep writing the novels. I just can't get enough of The Walking Dead. If you liked the other books you'll enjoy this one as well.
  • Solid Conclusion to the Governor/Woodbury Series

This book was the strongest of the four Walking Dead novels. In presenting the story from the Woodborians (?) point of view, we were able to look at them with more sympathetic eyes. This was most apparent with Gabe, who was just a lackey in the comics. My only problem with the plot was that I didn't necessarily buy Lilly's extreme oscillations in her trust of the Governor. I also wasn't a big fan of the Governor struggling with voices in his head. The writing was especially strong during the battle scenes, and those involving Michonne were the best. Some of the other parts were a little repetitive (e.g., squishing of brain matter). All in all, this was a fine conclusion to the series.
