My first book by Eloisa and I'm officially a fan. The characters are witty and the conversations were fun. It dragged a little bit in the end and the I think it was because she was trying to write in the title. All the same. A great read.

This story has a lot of potential but I was left very unsatisfied. It starts strong, lags incredibly in the middle and has a lackluster finish. Though the author named the book "Once Upon a Tower" in my opinion, it should've been given another title because the tower storyline is important but not important enough to name the book after it...The one positive thing about this story is that the author really develops the characters' personalities and the reader understands their relationship well.

I loved this book. It is the best of Eloisa's so far. It is a laugh out loud, touching book that hits all the right notes of the emotional heart strings! This book is one of my favorite of all time! It will be on my reading pile for a long, long, time.
  • Another Great "Updated" Fairy Tale

I was lucky enough to win an ARC of this book and I adored the exploration of the young lovers struggling with the overwhelming emotions of first love, the realities of intimacy, and their roles as a duke and duchess as well as husband and wife. Their struggles never felt overdone or tiresome and for me there was never a moment where I wanted to shake them for being stubborn, instead I sympathized with them for being young and a little stupid at times. I also loved the secondary story of Layla and Jonas. There are a couple of great spins on the Rapunzel tale and you may find yourself wanting to dig out a copy of Romeo and Juliet.
