Dublin is a city full of history, intrigue and interesting people and places. With this book, Brian Solomon has created a virtual tour using his stellar photography as a guide. He covers many varied topics from the pint, the Liffey, the Vikings, transportation, and more. I have been to Dublin before, but I look forward to returning with a new perspective and more information about this vibrant city thanks to Solomon's fine work. Highly recommended.

Brian Solomon is one of the worlds great photographers. This ebook raises the bar on the quality of photographs in an electronic book. The authors attention to detail is unexcelled. It is hard to imagine an ebook becoming a collectors item but "Dublin Unconquered" is the book I would place on my virtual coffee table.

One can read histories of Dublin, contemporary guidebooks, and find touristy picture books that line the remainder shelves in big bookstores. Brian Solomon's book transcends the common with informing prose that links history with the contemporary. Throughout the book a wonderful photo essay skillfully weaving from to color to black and white forms a visual storybook of contemporary Dublin that delights with glimpses and scenes. Images are presented that only come with a knowing eye and patient wandering and looking. Thanks to modern technology, a double tap on the picture brings the picture to life filling the iPad screen. This is a book that I'll spend time with not only learning about Dublin but absorbing the wonderful imagery.

This book is written with expertise, knowledge and depth that reflects Brian Solomon's many years of living in Dublin. But best of all are the pictures, full of magic, mystery, and amazingly designed to show Dublin at its picturesque best. And, good to know, every image was formatted just for the iPad - no shabby pdf here. This book was designed to be readable and to look beautiful in what is its native format. Congrats to this author for a job well done. Worth the $$.

This is a fun and fascinating look at a great city! The writing is adventurous and informative. Very up-to-date descriptions from a city that has recently experienced an economic boom and decline to the ancient times, complete with where to find vestiges of the ruins from every era. You will want to spend an afternoon exploring the many nooks and crannies of Dublin yourself. Lots of great pictures and easy to read maps. Full of street savvy and wit.

This book is spell-binding. The words clearly speak of Irish Heritage and a man who loves Ireland. I would find myself reading sentences over and over again for their beauty. The pictures are phenomenal! Each tells a story! I wish I had had this book with me on my trips to Dublin - would have spent way more time really getting to know this wonderful city. Brian Solomon clearly has two great talents, no -- make that three. He can write, he is a brilliant photographer, and he has a talent for seeing beneath the obvious!! This book shares his insight, and his marvelous grasp on both Irish history and its literature!! Bravo for contributing the best Irish travel book I've ever had the privilege to read!!

Seeing Dublin through the eyes of a non-tourist gives you a totally different and enjoyable view. The photographs themselves are worth the purchase price of the eBook -- layed out the way an electronic books should be for the iPad.
