  • Nice enough story, but…

This was a nice enough story, but I felt like the author used medical terms from another country. It needs an American editor. The main character came from a wealthy family and had completed a high level of education. Why did the author feel the need to give him poor grammar? Was this her idea of a Texas drawl? It just detracted from the story.

This book was really good. It dragged on at times, but the overall book was a good read. My heart broke for Brandon and his circumstances and I wanted to rip Anita’s head off her shoulders. Travis and Sky were awesome and got a second chance at being together after all they’d been through in the past. Loved the HEA.

4.5 Stars This is the second book in the Dixon's of Legacy Ranch series. I did not yet read the first book. With that said, The Cowboy's Texas Sky was independent and while I was curious about the characters from the previous book, it did not take anything away from my enjoyment of this one. Skylar and Travis have had a lot to deal with over the past years. I don't want to get into details because their pasts are what painted the future and you should experience and appreciate that on your own. I can tell you that this novel is intense and very emotional with what I would describe as having some dark elements to it. The main characters have been through so much over the past years and have had to deal with that on their own. When they meet again for the first in a very long time, there is confusion, anger and heartbreak for the years lost. The development of their new relationship moves steadily but slowly as it should. There are elements of the story that are not only about Skylar and Travis which add to even more emotions. I truly enjoyed this book and do recommend it. While I was given an advanced reading copy of The Cowboy's Texas Sky, this is my honest and unbiased review and I thank you for taking the time to read it. :)
