I love her books, and this one doesn’t disappoint! Characters and setting are great. The author writes in such a way that even though it’s a romance, it’s NOT like all the others.

This is the first book by this author I’ve read and I loved it . This great story is Sami and Marshal’s best friends to lovers and their devotion to each other that ended in their HEA . I highly recommend this book .

My Always One, while the fourth book in the Lighter Ones series, is not at all connected to the previous books and can be read as a complete standalone. This was a light, but steamy read that kept my heart racing just enough. We get to see small pieces of Sami and Marshal’s friendship over the years leading up to present day. I loved the evolution of their relationship. Though he played a small part, Sami’s dad was one of my favorite characters. There was nothing not to like about this book and left me feeling very satisfied.

Aleatha Romig usually writes dark, sexy stories, but has also released what she calls her lighter ones. My Always One has just become my favorite of her lighter ones series. (All standalone). I loved Marshall and Sami’s lifetime friendship and how they were always there for each other. I also loved that once they decided to take that friendship to the next level, there was no crazy, angst, drama that did something to their friendship. They were just two grownups finding their way with a new dynamic to their lifelong relationship. This was a quick, fun, light summer read. For a writer that typically writes the dark stories, Ms. Romig nailed it with this lighter one.
