This is such a sweet fake relationship romance. The story is beautiful and beautifully written. The story has laugh out loud moments and adorable, lovable characters. This is a feel good, cozy, heartwarming read. This might be a first book in a duet but it does not end in a cliffhanger.

I love this author and she hit this one out of the park. Linley and Kade are great together, no matter what different worlds they are from. The characters are well-written and you feel like you’ve known them forever, it was fun to watch them with each other and I look forward to the second part of the duet having met Brynn and Jasper, that’ll be good! I recommend this book for anyone who loves a sweet and steamy romance. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

A fake relationship, some laugh out loud moments and an inspiring love story! Linly (aka Lin) is a very strong, independent, smart, beautiful woman who took over the family inn after her parents died. Her best friend Brynn is the same and she runs the inn next door (Brynn’s story is book two of the “Chasing the Sun Duet”). Lin has agreed to rent her entire inn to a “Hollywood Playboy” (Kade) so he can chill and be hidden from the press. When he arrives to check in, he sees Lin and has one of those moments that make you think love at first sight. Since Kade is not supposed to go anywhere he maybe recognized, he spends a lot of time at the inn and on the beach. He gets to know Lin and they become friends. Trying to clean up his image, Kade gets the idea to fake a relationship to help his reputation and also bring more guests to the inns and the small town. When Lin and Kade take a stroll down Main Street, you can picture the scene in your mind just by the way it is described. Ms. Rose has done an excellent job of defining the inns and the small town around them. She has also created some wonderful side characters, especially the townsfolk who support Lin 100%. The relationship between Kade and his parents is wonderful, I loved how his mom brought up a fake relationship idea to Kade and how Kade turns to them when he needs advice. It’s great to have positive parent/adult child relationships represented. We also get to know a little about how Lin grew up and she had supportive parents as well but losing them when she was 20 leaves her feeling alone. But she has Brynn the super best friend, confidant, and person who will stay up with Lin all night if there is a thunderstorm. They work so well together, grew up together, and consider each other family. Once again, Ms. Rose is giving us a positive spin on a relationship. I enjoyed reading Lin and Kade’s story and I hope to see a little of them in the next book “Sunset” when Brynn and Jasper get to tell their story.
