  • Pretty good read

This third installment of the VIP series I had some mixed opinions regarding brooding but sexy survivor, Jax Blackwood and fiesty but vulnerable Stella Grey. Their love story had mixture of ups & downs with mental illness like depression and panic attacks during their rocky and but endearing budding relationship throughout the book. It was an original ‘meet cute’ on how Stella unintentionally stole Jax’s heart by taking the last mint chocolate chip ice cream with an daring quick kiss😂😂😂!! More sexually tension between them after Stella discovered Jax is her neighbor when she was temporarily pet sitting for Killian and Libby. I admire the straight forward and sensitivity that Kristen put into Jax and Stella’s story especially with the aftermath of Jax’s failed suicide attempt two years back. I liked how Stella interacted with Jax and eventually fell for him despite of his faults and issues with depression and panic attacks. It’s very human and impressively told with no holding back on how Jax copes and just being unconditionally loved & cared by Stella despite of the obstacles in front of them not to be afraid to fall for each other.

What a great story! I have literally read hundreds of books this year and this is my very first by Kristen Callahan. So much heart and depth. So thoughtfully done with a touchy subject. I loved the long “foreplay“ before they ever became…well, what they became. (Don’t want to give away the story.) I also loved the random footnotes. I’ve never read another book that had the author’s thoughts along the way. I literally laughed and cried and loved the story of Stella and John. This may be my new favorite author!
  • I love the footnotes but…

I was looking forward to reading about Jax’s story, he seemed to be the glue that tied the series together. However I did not like this one as much as the others. Sadly, I was a bit disappointed with his story, but I still enjoyed the read.

This is a book I would read several times. I loved Stella and Kohn and how the author told a wonderful and real story True love and longevity in a relationship is about dealing with the bumps in the road

I just love curling up on the couch with this series. Each book kept my heart rate up through every turn of that page. Humor, lovable characters, suspense, angst, incredibly exciting love-making... all of my favorite traits of well-written romance. Keep ‘em coming!! (No pun intended)

I just loved this book! Reading the first two books I couldn’t conjure someone to fit for Jax but Stella is PERFECT! I also loved to see Jax overcome all of his trama. Won’t regret reading!

I feel really relate to the the depression of Jax,because sometimes I feel that too ,and somehow I failed to express my feelings not because The wall builds in my heart but also because I simply lack of the ability to express feelings .so turn to listening to rock and roll music, and my feelings can be expressed through them .music is a huge part of my life, and thanks Kristen for writing this incredible and beautiful series.
