I loved going back and forth with the multiple characters and hearing their stories. I never knew people were sent all the way to Siberia from Poland! The survival stories were really amazing

Truly brilliant work. Best book I’ve read in a long time and I read about 50 per year, primarily historical fiction. This book is primarily a history of her family during WW2 in Poland and the history around it. The suffering they went through is almost unspeakable. A very emotional ending. Not enough adjectives in my vocabulary to provide the accolades it truly deserves.
Everyone needs to read this book

The only was to prevent this type of tragedy in the future is to learn from the past. What humans will do to other humans is unremarkable.
Phenomenal

It is a story of family that every person should read about survival. It brought back memories of my grandparents who lived during that war. A truly wonderful book

I couldn’t stop reading this novel! When it ended I wished there was more to read. This story is one of a kind. If you are interested in World War II survival stories this is the book for you. The detail the author includes paints a clear picture of what went on in Europe during that time. I will probably end up reading this again. It was that good!!
