I picked this book up even though I am not a fan of Extreme sports. I remembered Moore's story from a few years ago and thought I would give it a shot. Glad I did. It's an excellent read, that gave me a great peek into what it takes to be an extreme athlete, and why these competitors do what they do. It's literally life and death every time out. But there are real emotions too. Mr. O'Brien does an incredible job of telling the story, filling in historical references that really help deliver a powerful emotional punch the whole way through. Like his last book, Outside Shot, he dives deep into backstory and perspective, adding color to Moore's account. At times, I forgot it was a first-person perspective, but it always brought me back. Would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys non-fiction and a good story.
